A tea sampler, or a tea flight, is another name for a variety pack of teas from a particular brand. This allows you to try numerous teas from the same brand, to compare them, and to round-out your collection without having to spend a fortune. You can determine which teas you like the best from a particular vendor after trying the best that they have to offer, and then when it’s time to re-order you can simply stick to your favorites.
Choosing a Tea Sampler
If you’re trying to decide which tea sampler to get, it’s really just a matter of picking out a few that interest you, and then comparing which flavors and types of tea they come with, and deciding which one you’d like to try the most.
To help you with this research, we’ve compiled five different tea flights that have been curated and are highly rated by people who have tried them. This list of tea samplers is not a complete list, we just wanted to put together some of our favorites, and favorites of other people, to help jump-start you on your way.
All of these are loose leaf tea, by the way, and they’re all available on Amazon (and elsewhere, too, in most cases.)
Five Loose-Tea Samplers to try:
For each of these, we’ll include a quick description, an image of the sampler itself, a list of every type of tea that’s included, and finally a link to Amazon where you check out some of the reviews, check the price, and have some tea on its way to your door in a matter of moments.
5. Tea Forté Classic Tea Collection
This collection by Tea Forté is a perfect place to get started. It comes with five different teas, and you’ll get three single loose leaf servings of each one, for a total of fifteen servings. This collection features something for everyone, here’s a rundown:
- Chamomile Citron
- Earl Grey
- English Breakfast
- Ginger Lemongrass
- Green Mango Peach
4. Heavenly Tea Variety Pack
This package comes with nine different tins of tea, with each tea having roughly ten servings each. This is one of the more affordable options, even if the overall price is higher than some, you’re getting a more substantial amount of tea as well, so your overall cost per cup is going to be a lot lower. That makes this an excellent option if you’re budget conscious and looking to get a lot of tea-bang for your tea-buck. With this package, you’re getting a random assortment of teas belonging to some of the following categories, but you never really know what you’ll get until you order it, and if you order it multiple times, you can expect different contents.
- Flavored Green Tea
- China Green Tea
- Black Tea
- Flavored Black Tea
- White Tea
- Herbal Tea
- Flavored Rooibos Tisane
- Rooibos Herbal Tisane
- Among others…
3. Solstice Tea Traders Tea Sampler
This variety pack comes with six different teas, and gives you a decent serving of some unique teas that are worthy of adding to your collection. They don’t have as many reviews as some of the more popular brands, but none the less they ones they do have are overwhelmingly positive. Here are the types of tea you’ll get:
- Iyerpadi Estate Black Tea
- Red Rooibos Herbal Tea
- Lychee Congou Black Tea
- Formosa Standard Oolong
- Gunpowder Green Tea
- Pu-erh Tuo Cha (5 Gram Pellets)
2. Finch & Fern’s Tea Sample Pack
Finch & Fern is an organic tea company based in Oregon who launched in 2015. This is a nice collection of teas to try, at a very reasonable rate, and for someone who is looking to try quality loose leaf teas, and likes things to be a little random sometimes, you never know exactly which teas you’ll get – it can vary from order to order, but you will be getting roughly 12-24 servings, depending on the particular teas you receive.
- Classic teas (A wide variety of lovely sounding blends.)
- Herbal teas (They have many great options, and you’ll get a random assortment with your order.)
1. Golden Moon Loose Leaf Organic Tea Sampler Gift Set
This collection of fine lovely teas comes with a total of 48 servings total of just 4 different teas. Granted, the selection is a lot less than the other ones we looked at, but that also means you end up with more of each of these teas, and it is a really nice assortment… so having a dozen servings of each one does, indeed, mean less overall variety – but it also gives you a chance to ‘get to know’ each of these teas a little better, too, so if they sound good to you – this is probabally your best bet.
Also, this is great for people who are new to loose leaf tea because it comes with a tea spoon to help you measure your servings, and a handy little booklet to help introduce you to the world of loose leaf tea.
- Organic Rooibos
- English Breakfast
- Masala Chai
- Mint Medley
