Rishi Ruby Black Tea Review

Ruby black tea by Rishi Tea, Sheer Decadence

This loose leaf black tea states it has strong exotic notes of wintergreen, camphor, allspice and tropical fruits. A wonderful flavor profile if it lives up to its claim. Black tea’s have richer flavors due to the oxidation process, allowing the consumer to explore the brews nuances much like a fine glass of wine.

First Impressions: Deep dark leaves with purple and reddish hue’s, a heavily fermented black tea brimming with quality.

Aroma: A rich warm aroma that would easily arouse your senses much like a cup of coffee. An earthy quality is coupled with the natural spice like characteristics of this tea.

Flavors: A brisk clean black tea, allowing the flavors to be conveyed clearly and cleanly. While this tea has complex and bold flavors, it delivers them in a smooth clean brew putting the tea in the spotlight, not masking its subtleties like some mainstream black tea’s.

Additional Information

Preparation: The recommended way to prepare this cup of tea is as follows, place 1 tablespoon of tea leaves in 8oz of 91 C water for 2-3 minutes.

Where To Get It: Check it out at as well as many other great tea’s!

Closing Thoughts

While it was a bold claim to live up to, Ruby black tea certainly lives up to its claim of diverse and strong flavors. Near the middle of the cup the natural sweetness really shines through, as if it was infused with a rich pure honey. Don’t let the intensity of black tea’s scare you off, this tea is a perfect example of how clean and rich black tea’s can taste if produced properly, which this certainly is.
